Software is a program which we can see it but cannot touch it. Software is a requirement of the computer system. As a car cannot run without fuel, a computer cannot run without software. Computer hardware are the component of the computer. In simple language, computer hardware is like the human body and software is like the human mind. Just like the human mind controls all the human activities, software controls all the computer functions. 

Software is divided into two type 1. Application software 2. Operating system software

Applications software is used to increase the computer software capability for ex- DTP, Tally

3    Operating system software

The functions of this software are converted system without which a machine cannot run. The ex- Windows XP, VIST, windows 7, 8, 10 etc.

What is hardware?

                Computer is the communications of both hardware and software. The physically component what we found is a computer known as hardware.

·         Monitor: - computer displays the result on a tv like display screen called the monitor it is also known as visual display unit (VDU)

·         Keyboard: - It is the primary input device through with the user can send any type of information to the computer. A keyboard has an arrangement of buttons and/keys. It is used for typing tent or numbers to feed data into the computer or to give commands into the computer to do a specific task.

·         Mouse: - Mouse is used to draw pictures and give instruction to the computer.

when the mouse is moved arrow pointer or the cursor moves on the screen. Since the mouse points an object on the monitor, it is also known as pointer device.

·         Speaker: - speaker are additional hardware components to hear sound music and song on the computer.

·         CPU: - CPU has 3 unit, such as MU (memory unit), ALU (arithmetic logic unit), CU (control unit)

1.       Desktop computer

Desktop computer that sits on the table or desk is called desktop computer. These are most commonly known as personal computer. (PC) PC are not designed to be portable computer. These means that they cannot move from one place to another place easily.

2.        Portable computer

Portable computer meant for user who are frequently on the move. These are light-weight mobile computers or notebook computers. They have a single unit having monitor, keyboard, pointer device, or track ball, CPU, memory drive. They operate on battery.

3.       Palmtop computer/ handheld computer

These computers are integrated computer that often use small memory and storage space. Palmtop computers usually do not have a keyboard but rely on touch screen technology for user input. These are very light-weight with reasonable battery life as slightly larger and heavier version of the palmtop computer /handheld computer.

4.       Mainframe computer

Mainframe computer refers to large computer which are very powerful and are used for special applications.

5.       Super computer

Super computer are extremely large and even more powerful computer and are used for weather furcating, national defense etc. they are built using hundreds or thousands of processors.

6.       Wearable computer

The latest trend compute ring is wearable computer. Common computer application (e-mail, accounts, multimedia, calendar, note) are integrated into watches, cellphones, shoes, space and even clothing.

What is RAM?

 

RAM (read only memory ) 

RAM stands for random access memory whether all the data will be stored. in fact the RAM has been provided for storing the data as primary storage devices, while typing anything it directly stores in electronic circuit and it works continuously till power continues for instance while studying anything it comes at our mind then only we can write it into our copies or any source, it means it goes through a reading procedure from input devices to RAM to secondary devices like floppy/hard-disk etc. Due to its features it is also known as Read/write memory.

functioning of RAM when you run a application on your computer, it is loaded into memory and the instructions coded in it are executed. program code and data are a simple collection of bytes. memory 

memory is a device that holds that state of this collection of bytes. any new application that is demands more more memory for running. The processor needs to access the code and data in any area of memory in any order. This method of access is called Random Access. it's much quicker to access data in memory as compared to reading from your hard drive or a floppy disk.

Point to be remembered.

Damage with power failure: it should be noted that this data is lost once you shutdown you machine interruption in electric supply causes an immediate loss of data. when your machine is switched on again, the operating system loads that necessary files from secondary memory into the RAM and the required information is accessible once that focuses on data currently in use.

 

What is computer ?

 Computer is an electronic device machine which manipulates data according to a list of instruction. Computer is a very fast programable electronic device which accepts data from the user through the input devices like keyboard, scanner, mouse, etc. after processing data give us information through the like output device monitor, printer etc. 

The word computer derived from Greek word "Compute" which means to "calculate"
